THE PAWSITIVE EXPERIENCE
What happens during a spa day at Pawsitive Transfurmations?
Every groom starts with a thorough bath; each dog gets shampooed twice, and then conditioned. The face is scrubbed with a gentle facial fluff cleanser.
We exclusively use luxury product lines in our salon, and we select the best bathing products for each pup's individual coat type.
We hand dry each dog, utilizing a combination of high velocity dryers and smaller fluff dryers, all depending on the dog's needs and tolerance. Senior pets, puppies, and other special needs dogs are usually hand dried with smaller fluff dryers only.
While we complete the drying process, we brush out, remove undercoat/deshed, and/or detangle your dog's coat with appropriate products where necessary and/or beneficial.
Every dog gets their nails clipped, and as long as the pup permits, filed with an electric dremel as well.
Ears are cleaned with an enzymatic ear cleaning solution, that also has a drying agent in it to aid in prevention of moisture buildup in the ears.
Dogs that receive haircuts will then have their coat trimmed and styled according to owner specifications, as far as possible.
At the very end of the service, we apply a spritz of one of our luxury colognes, and add an accessory or two, for that cute, little extra touch.
ADDITIONAL THINGS TO KNOW
We do not upcharge for things like the dremel, or the facial fluff (our superior alternative to the blueberry facial).
We're NOT cage/crate free, but only utilize them when absolutely necessary. We still recommend that owners crate train their dogs for their own safety and comfort.
Note that we limit the amount of dematting we do, for your dog's comfort. If your dog is matted, it's better to shave it off and start over. At Pawsitive Transfurmations, we will not cause your pet pain or distress, just to avoid a shavedown. After we've started fresh with a clean slate, we will happily work with your desired schedule and budget to find a trim that works for everyone involved.
Most of our curly-coated and long-haired/drop-coated dogs will have their body clippered and their legs hand scissored.
All-over haircuts more than 1.25 inches in length will have a hand scissoring fee added on.
Show trims are available for select breeds/trims ONLY (Anneli will not accept show trims beyond her abilities but would be happy to provide a referral).
We will not hold down your pet, force them through any procedures, or use excessive restraint to "get the job done." If your dog has behavioral challenges that complicate the grooming process, we may recommend other approaches and training, in the best interest of the dog.
